Much of my research in science education pays close attention to the visual, graphical language of both science and science education–to this end, I’ve started investigating Edward Tufte’s work on information design and data visualization, and also Inge Druckery’s wonderfully inspiring work on teaching graphic design students how to see.

  • I’ve also been tinkering with software programs such as TABLEAU, a powerful public software package for data visualization, and PREZI, a popular online presentation tool that supports a preference for non-linear design.
